Marine grade polymer is a marketing term that doesn’t really mean anything. There is no performance standard for “marine grade polymer” so it is open to interpretation. Lots of things are “Polymer”, including teflon, nerf foam balls, neoprene wetsuits, PVC, and yes, High Density Polyethylene. The performance specifications of the brand and construction methods are more important than the marketing label “Marine Grade Polymer”
